Brand Story

The “Polyester” Insult

A few years ago, I ordered a jacket online for a veteran friend. The ad showed a rugged, high-quality piece of gear. I was excited.

But when the package arrived 4 weeks later, my heart sank. It wasn’t rugged. It was thin, shiny polyester. The print was blurry. It was junk coming from a random warehouse overseas.

I felt cheated. But worse, I felt it was a slap in the face to the values that apparel was supposed to represent. How can you honor ‘Service and Sacrifice’ with a product that falls apart in the wash?

I realized that if I wanted gear that actually respected the Veteran community—authentic, durable, and honest—I would have to build it myself. That is the true story behind Valor Tailor.
